Magnum Trailer & Equipment, a manufacturer and service provider for heavy-duty trucks and trailers, recently completed its first install of snow plow rigs for two of Fort Garry Industries (FGI) Western Star 4700 trucks.
FGI supplies “hundreds” of plow and spreader rig-ups every year for snow and ice removal throughout Western Canada, Magnum said. Magnum’s rig-out department was provided with the design concept, snow plow components and hydraulics from Rexroth prior to the truck delivery to ensure a streamlined install.
“We were able to complete a quick turnaround in part due to the great knowledgeable team at FGI and also the ease of the hydraulic installation that came with plug and play electronics and diagnostics,” said Joe Muzyka, Magnum’s vice president of operations.
The electrical system was designed user-friendly controls for easier operation intended to improve “swift and thorough” snow removal.
“Having Magnum recently break into building some of our larger plow trucks has been instrumental in servicing our customer base and we are impressed with the end product,” said Steve Van Ysseldyk, OEM sales branch manager for Fort Garry Industries.
Magnum’s rig-out department provides a variety of accessory installations, truck body builds, frame shortening and lengthening, as well as designing and installing a variety of hydraulic systems.
