Hoosier Tank and Manufacturing, a manufacturer of steel air reservoirs, celebrated its 20th anniversary May 6, 2011. Over the past two decades, the family-owned business has grown from a modest company with a handful of employees to a successful business supplying hundreds of truck and trailer manufacturers worldwide — with two of its first employees still employed by the business.

The company started supplying air tanks to a number of customers outside of the truck and trailer industry in the first couple years of business. As Hoosier Tank grew in size, it expanded to a larger facility in its hometown of South Bend IN, adding production lines, increased efficiency, and future potential growth to support its growing customer base in the transportation industry.

In 2010, Hoosier Tank installed a new, state-of-the-art powdercoating system, offering five times the required corrosion resistance on air reservoirs. Due to increased demand and efficiencies, the company expects to produce more than 600,000 units in 2011, compared with 400,000 in 2010.
