When all is said and done, those of us in the transportation equipment business are going to recall 2019 quite fondly: It has been, by virtually all accounts, a pretty darn good year. It’s just that after the hectic surge of 2018 and ahead of the vast uncertainty that is 2020, not much over the last 12 months has really cried out for attention.

But, in putting together this roundup of content on the Trailer/Body BUILDERS website and in the magazine, it became quite apparent that this has been a busy year indeed, and a time of transition: Vehicle electrification and telematics, automation both on the road and in the factory, and M&A activity all made headlines throughout the year.
