The Truck Trailer Manufacturers Association reports that nearly 200 “colleagues and competitors” have already registered for the TTMA 2022 Annual Convention, set for April 27-30 at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Ariz., and the website remains the "one stop shop" for event information and registration.
The four-day schedule opens with a new member and first-timer orientation followed by a welcome reception on Wednesday.
Thursday’s busy program includes morning committee meetings followed the 1st General Session that features the traditional supplier presentations. Karl Muth, who teaches entrepreneurship at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and whose research and writing focuses on the effects of regulation and the adoption of technology, will deliver the keynote. FTR Chairman and CEO Eric Starks will provide the economic update and market forecast. After lunch, trailer design and manufacturing takes center stage with the engineering meeting, open to all attendees. The evening includes the annual Associates’ Reception—themed “Back to the 80s!”—followed by the Associates’ Dinner.
Friday opens with the TTMA Board Meeting, open to all manufacturers, and a health walk. Along with more supplier presentations, The 2nd General Session features Don Rheem, a leadership and employee engagement expert, and Mark Sims, director of sales development for Stryker’s Instruments Division, who will explain The Happiness Impact. Afternoon activities include a scavenger hunt in Old Scottsdale, a golf scramble, and a pickleball tournament.
Saturday means more golf, a tennis tournament, a margarita and salsa making class, and a pool party. In the evening, attendees will enjoy a reception and banquet, during which the annual Plant Safety Awards will be presented.
