Felling Trailers is offering public tours Oct 5 as part of the “Dream it. Do it. Minnesota Statewide Tour of Manufacturing.”
The trailer manufacturer’s Sauk Centre location will be open from 8 am to noon Oct 5 to all families, job seekers, schools and community groups who want to learn firsthand how people make the things we use every day.
Felling does ask that for safety all tour attendees wear closed-toe shoes. Safety glasses and hearing protection will be provided.
“We’re excited to open our doors so youth, families and job seekers can see how we use science, technology, engineering and math every day in our work,” said Brenda Jennissen, CEO of Felling Trailers.
Felling Trailers this year is celebrating 45 years in business. The family-owned and operated, full-line trailer manufacturer started with a small shop in 1974 and now boasts a factory and office complex that covers 325,000 square feet.
During the tour, participants will see how the company takes a trailer from the engineering design room to the shop floor, and finally a finished product. From the welding jig to the fabrication center, see how Felling’s engineers utilize the latest design techniques, and how the company’s experienced metal craftspeople use cutting-edge technology to turn customers’ conceptual trailer needs into a tangible product.
This tour is supported by Central Minnesota Manufacturer’s Association (CMMA) and is part of Dream It. Do It. Minnesota Statewide Tour of Manufacturing, led by the 360 Manufacturing Center of Excellence and Applied Engineering. Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association, Midwest Manufacturers’ Association and 360 are platinum sponsors for this event.
