Terrence Hahn officially joined Axalta Coating Systems as Chief Executive Officer on Tuesday, Sept. 4, succeeding Charlie Shaver, who will continue with the company as a non-executive chairman.
Hahn also will serve on Axalta’s Board of Directors, expanding the board’s size from eight to nine directors.
Axalta’s board selected Hahn to succeed Shaver in July.
“My career experiences—at Honeywell and Air Products, and living in Asia, Europe and the Americas—have built my passion for delivering value to stakeholders every day,” Hahn said. “Innovative offerings, exceptional customer service and efficient operations from an extraordinarily talented team will continue to be hallmarks of Axalta as we drive both organic and inorganic growth. I am excited about the bright and bold future ahead of us.”
Hahn most recently was president and CEO of Honeywell International’s Home and Building Technologies group. Shaver, who chose to step down as CEO to pursue a unique professional opportunity, will remain on Axalta’s board, working closely with Hahn to ensure a seamless leadership transition.
