Coxreels levels up hose safety

July 18, 2022
New High-Visibility Safety Hose Reels feature hybrid construction, enhanced kink resistance, and bright-yellow coloring for increased awareness

Coxreels is bolstering safety with its new High-Visibility Safety Hose Reels.

Slips, trips, and falls constitute the majority of general industry accidents, which cause 15% of all accidental deaths, according to Coxreels. To help reduce incidents, Coxreels’ bright yellow hoses increase awareness and visibility while they’re in use, creating “the safest environment possible,” the company said.

“As the industry leader in hose, cord, and cable reels, Coxreels is making a commitment to provide our customers with the ultimate and most complete diverse line of reels and reeling accessories,” Coxreels said in a release.

Featured on P, SH, and T series reels, Hi-Vis hose is a hybrid hose with a white glossy stripe available in ⅜- and ½-inch sizes. Hybrid hoses (PVC plus rubber blend) offer similar performance to rubber with the weight of PVC, combining positive features of both hose types, the company said. They have increased hose flexibility and better low-temperature behavior, while maintaining strength and toughness. And with enhanced kink resistance and reduced coil memory, they lay flat for a reduced trip hazard potential.

Hybrid hoses also feature a less sticky jacket surface than PVC for better stacking performance and improved non-marring qualities. With a working pressure of 300 psi, these hoses are ideal for applications involving air and water.

“Adding EZ-Coil controlled retraction and Hi-Vis hose to your Coxreels reel, it will create the maximum safety environment for your workplace,” the company concluded.
