Four separate breakout sessions on data synchronization, online ordering and eTraining will provide a strong conclusion to the 2007 Aftermarket eForum at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Chicago, July 16-18.
The breakout session “Connecting the Dots” will look at online ordering and other revolutions at the store counter. Real world practitioners, Mandy Aguilar of The Parts House and Ron Decker of Decker Auto Supply, will demonstrate how they have migrated as much as a third of their orders from phones and faxes to web based platforms. “A Supplier’s Take On Global Data Synchronization,” will feature Marc Blackman of Gold Eagle, Inc. and Tim Foster of 1SYNC. This session will provide a first hand account on how an aftermarket supplier is actively synchronizing data today with non-aftermarket retailers. Both sessions are scheduled on July 18 from 8 to 9:30 am and will be repeated again from 10 am to 11:30 am.
Scheduled from 8 to 9:30 am on July 18, “eTraining - GM Approach to Tech Training,” will look at how ACDelco moved to a “blended learning” approach to training which supplement hands-on classroom instruction with Web-based courses. The session will be led by Jeff Spitzer of GM Service & Parts Operation.
With the SEMA Business Technology Committee’s (BTC) Data Pool Pilot Program, SEMA has developed a test designed to jumpstart the process of sharing data between manufacturers and their trading partners by assisting manufacturers with gathering their data and making it standards compliant. “SEMA BTC - Pilot Project in Data Synchronization,” will provide an update of where SEMA is with this program and how it will affect the way you do business in the future. Speakers include Ed Heon of DATAgility and Alise Miner of SEMA, and will be held from 10 am to 11:30 am.
