Palfinger Liftgates announced that Maxon Lift Corp. chose to dismiss its patent infringement lawsuit against Palfinger.
In July of 2016, Maxon filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California concerning infringement of three separate patents that were issued to Maxon. The patents in question relate to power down on command features offered on the Maxon BMR series column lift.
"We are very pleased that Maxon voluntarily dismissed their lawsuit, with prejudice, after the validity of the asserted patents was challenged," comments Hakan Peterson, President of Palfinger Liftgates, "Going forward we will continue to provide cutting edge solutions such as the driver controlled Power Down on Command used on the ILD +."
When designing the ILD + in 2008, Palfinger Liftgates opted for "smart technology" to obtain maximum battery savings and to give the operator a choice between two different modes. With a light load on the platform, the ILD + lowers faster by gravity yet, by pressing the down switch twice, the operator can descent quickly with an empty platform or in cold weather.
