J&J Truck Bodies & Trailers, a division of Somerset Welding & Steel, is now manufacturing 130-barrel (BBL) pressure vacuum tank trailers in addition to J&J’s popular 110-BBL mounted tanker.

The J&J DynaHauler PVT 130-BBL tank trailer is engineered to withstand the rigorous demands of gas and oil field service work. From the full penetration submerged arc welds to the Cor-Ten suspension sub-frame, the J&J 130-BBL tank trailer is a sound investment for oil and gas field service operations in the Marcellus and Utica shale, and beyond.

J&J customers working in oil and gas field service showed interest in a tanker option with increased hauling capacity and over-the-road capability. J&J designers went to work developing a 130-BBL tank trailer. The company invested in equipment and automation that allows J&J to efficiently produce the tank trailers in high volume, with the quality that customers expect from a J&J.

“Our goal in this project was to market and produce a high-capacity, fifthwheel tank trailer that is among the best in the industry, with an emphasis on producing multiple-unit orders,” says Bill Riggs, president of Somerset Welding & Steel. “The demand is already high, so we’re optimizing our production schedules to meet customer needs.”

The first J&J tank trailers were delivered to Hill International Trucks, LLC, a vocational truck dealer located in Eighty-Four, Pennsylvania.

“J&J worked with Hill International to introduce the J&J DynaHauler PVT 130-BBL tank trailer, and our customers are pleased with the construction quality and workmanship,” says Kevin Donelli, general manager at Hill International.

The standard J&J tank trailer features include 1/4-inch steel heads, shell and anti-surge baffles. It is equipped with a Fruitland RCF 500 vacuum pump, LED lighting, three manways, a cold weather sump package, and Shermin Williams Genesis paint. Popular options include a full-length catwalk, aluminum hose trays, interior tank liner, tool boxes and on-board scales. J&J can also install wetlines, available through J&J Truck Equipment.
