Beginning this month, ACT Research will be publishing a preliminary estimate for U.S. net total trailer orders for the previous month. This process will be similar to that already in place for truck net order reporting.

Through ACT’s analysis, it has developed a methodology that allows it to generate a total U.S. trailer industry net order estimate that should be within +/- 5% of the final order number. This new information will precede ACT’s flash and U.S. trailer “State of the Industry” reporting, which will continue to be published on its normal schedule in conjunction with the receipt of the month’s last OEM data inputs. Complete industry data is typically disseminated between the 21st and 23rd of the month.

ACT’s preliminary estimate for April ‘s net trailer orders is 17,200 units, which would be nearly a 15% increase from March 2016 and approximately 5% below the same month last year.
