With sales up 25%, Class 6 trucks helped truck dealers post another strong increase in the sales of commercial trucks in October.
Dealers sold 60,442 trucks with gross vehicle weight ratings above 10,000 pounds, according to figures compiled by Wards Auto. This represents a 5% increase from September and is 10% ahead of October 2013.
Class 8 trucks also sold well in October, up 23%, and Class 5 models were up 16%.
Through the first 10 months of 2014, dealers sold 546,050 trucks with GVW ratings above 10,000 pounds, up 10% from the corresponding period of 2013.
