Dejana Truck & Utility Equipment announced today the acquisition of a new facility 11 miles Northeast of Philadelphia, and the formation of their sixth business unit, Dejana Truck Equipment of Greater Philadelphia.

The new facility is the company’s fifth commercial truck manufacturing location and has been established to provide greater sales and service capability to the Pennsylvania/New Jersey area.

Vice President Andy Dejana said, “Dejana has built a reputation on service, and this new location will allow us to serve the needs of customers in the Philadelphia area more effectively while providing greater opportunities for our vendors.”

The 27,000-square-foot facility is on five acres on a main thoroughfare located at 2502 Route 130 in Cinnaminson, NJ, and is easily accessible from many major highways. Most attractive to Dejana management was that it was previously established as a commercial truck upfit facility, and will therefore need little modification to be operational. The building features 20,000 square feet of production space with a showroom, parts and service provisions, and two paint spray booths.

“Aside from some production enhancements and modernization we should be ready for business almost immediately,” said Dejana CFO, Sal Silvestri.

In 2007, Dejana celebrates it 50th year in business as a major commercial truck supplier to the Northeast. Headquartered in Kings Park, NY, its Truck & Utility Division has manufacturing locations in Kings Park, NY, Huntington, NY, Smithfield, RI, and Baltimore, MD. In addition, Dejana’s Cargo and Van Body Division, located in Rosedale, MD, manufactures a full line of dry freight and van body equipment for nearly any chassis requirement.
