Dealers sold 63,820 trucks with GVW ratings above 10,000 pounds during the month, up 6% from October 2014 (60,442) and 1% from September 2015 (63,143).
Compared with October 2014, Class 8 trucks were down 13% (20,972, compared to 22,032). Class 7 sales were 5,282, up 10% from 4,781.
For the year, truck dealers have sold 602,912 trucks with GVW ratings above 10,000 pounds, up 12% from 546,050 in 2014. Class 8 sales have been 208,793, a 16% increase from the same period last year (180,320). Class 7 sales have been up 9% (49,080, compared to 45,160).
Total sales of all classes have been up 12%, from 7,522,434 to 8,449,710.
Every class has been up. The biggest increase other than Class 8 has been in Class 1 (15%).
