Stater Bros. Markets (Colton, CA) accepted the delivery of 20 Sterling A-Line tractors, making one-third of its fleet Sterling vehicles.

"We add approximately three new stores every year, and as our business continues to grow, so does our truck fleet," said Larry Bentley, purchasing supervisor at Stater Bros. Markets. "We purchase trucks about once a year, and for the past three years have purchased only Sterling trucks. Right now, we have 52 A-Line tractors and hope to convert the entire fleet to Sterling in the future."

Stater Bros. — which says it is the largest privately owned supermarket chain in Southern California — purchased 15 Sterling tractors in December 2002, 17 in June 2003 and 20 in January 2004.

As a leading truck manufacturer for food, beverage, less-than-truckload and regional haul customers, Sterling prides itself on the A-Line, which offers a roomy cab, great visibility, and custom features for a wide range of distribution needs.
