Phillips Industries will become the exclusive distributor of products from Intra Technologies to independent warehouse distributor channels. Tukwila WA-based Intra makes patented DC power management products for the trucking industry.
The two companies also are in discussions to integrate the LVD into the Phillips ElectroLink inverter/charging system and are investigating other synergies with the Intra product line.
Phillips will distribute the Intra LVD, designed to preserve battery power needed to start the engine. Using patented technology from Intra, the LVD monitors battery levels during key-off periods and automatically disconnects non-critical power loads when battery voltage reaches critical levels.
Intra's Jump-Start Prevention kit will also be sold through the Phillips channels. The kit monitors the battery voltage on dormant trucks, and like the LVD, it disconnects the loads when the battery level reaches a critical level, but it disconnects the entire vehicle.
