Koike Aronson Inc/Ransome, a manufacturer of metal cutting and positioning equipment, has begun the addition of approximately 30,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space to its main facility in Arcade NY. The new space will help the company meet rising demand for all of its equipment, which is used in a range of heavy industries such as mining, energy, and transportation.

“Our business has increased tremendously, so we need the space,” said Jerry Leary, chief executive officer, who also noted that about a third of Koike's sales are overseas. The addition, when completed, will make the company's Arcade facility 167,000 square feet in total.

The new area will house the company's entire Positioner Assembly Department as well as two new paint booths. It will be served by two crane bridges, both with a span of 135 feet. Railroad tracks abutting the Koike property have been moved with the help of financing from the state of New York.
