Heil Environmental has sold the assets of its Heil Arizona distributorship and assigned the territory covering Arizona to Arizona Refuse Sales, LLC, of Phoenix, effective immediately.
Arizona Refuse has also agreed to cover New Mexico until the territory is assigned. The purchase includes assets, inventory and customer records of Heil Arizona. As an authorized Heil distributor, Arizona Refuse Sales will now offer national, municipal and private customers throughout the territory Heil refuse collection vehicles, Heil Certified OEM replacement parts, Parts Inc. aftermarket parts, Heil dump bodies and other truck equipment.
Arizona Refuse Sales is a full-service distributor, providing maintenance and repair for virtually any type of equipment, as well as consulting on equipment specification, vehicle productivity and cost of ownership, routing, parts inventory management and new system start-ups. The company was established in 1996 by Paul Campbell, a former 20-year Heil employee. This family-owned business also carries hydraulic lifters from Bayne Premium Lift Systems and includes a complete hydraulic cylinder repair shop. There are currently 16 employees, though Campbell is hiring more and plans to expand the business.
Arizona Refuse Sales is well-known for taking care of its customers, says David Baratti, Heil vice president of North American sales. Its excellent reputation and focus on the customer made the company a natural candidate to be a Heil distributor, he says.

The transition to service from Heil Arizona to Arizona Refuse Sales should be seamless for customers, Baratti says. Many key Heil Arizona employees, including veteran sales representative Tom Nigbur, will go to work for Arizona Refuse Sales.
“Our branch locations, Heil Arizona and Heil South in Atlanta, have been solid performers for us through the years,” Baratti says. “When Paul approached us about purchasing Heil Arizona’s assets and territory, we seriously weighed the advantages and disadvantages to all concerned.
