Ford Motor Co has authorized Louisville Truck Equipment to install rail equipment onto Ford Trucks, equipping them for use on rail. As a result, these trucks can also be shipped using Ford ShipThrough.
This authorization comes after 18 months of research including three crash tests. These tests confirmed the compliance of rail gear with applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. Currently, Louisville Truck Equipment is one of two ShipThrough facilities approved for this type of application.
