Exterior signage at Federal Signal Corporation’s E-One fire apparatus manufacturing facility in Preble NY is being changed this month from Saulsbury Fire Rescue to reflect the unified branded name E-One.

“While the Saulsbury Fire Rescue name has a great history and is respected regionally, since its purchase by Federal Signal Corporation five years ago we’ve been planning to introduce the quality product lines fabricated at this plant to a national audience more familiar with the E-One name,” said Harold Pinto, president of the Ocala FL-based E-One.

Customers ordering apparatus fabricated in Preble will continue to have an option of labeling it with a Saulsbury or E-One mark. “Preble is home of both E-One and Saulsbury branded vehicles,” said Pinto.

The Preble facility manufactures multiple lines of E-One and Saulsbury branded vehicles including:

· Walk-in and non-walk-in heavy rescue trucks

· Custom and commercial pumpers

· F100 RLP’s – a compact, 100-foot, rear mounted articulating boom platform for aerial trucks that is highly maneuverable.

Either extruded aluminum or stainless steel is used in the composition of vehicles produced at Preble depending on the product or customer’s requirements. E-One national vice president for operations, Angie Negron reports that the company will keep a stainless steel line as an active part of its Preble product portfolio.

E-One employs 242 people at its Preble facility in a variety of manufacturing, sales and administrative capacities. The facility, open since 1956, has 2000 trucks in operation. It has been operating under E-One management since 1998 when Federal Signal Corporation acquired it.
