Diesel price up slightly

After two straight weeks of decline, the national average price for a gallon of diesel increased 0.8 cents to $2.890 for the week ending May 4, according to the Energy Information Administration.

All regions with an average price of over $3 were did not experience an increase. Prices dipped the most on the West Coast, down 0.2 cents to $3.159. The highest-price region, California, remained at $3.227. The Midwest, up 1.3 cents to $2.837, had the largest increase. The Gulf Coast once again had the lowest prices in the nation, averaging $2.805 despite a 0.7-cent increase.
