Diesel-price drop continues - barely

For the ninth straight week, the average national price for a gallon of diesel fell - barely. This time, it was by 0.3 cents, to $2.503

For the ninth straight week, the average national price for a gallon of diesel fell - barely. This time, it was by 0.3 cents, to $2.503, for the week ending Oct. 15, according to the Energy Information Administration.

Some regions actually experienced an increase. The Gulf Coast saw the biggest -- 1.5 cents to $2.461. California saw the largest decline, down 4.8 cents, but still remained the most expensive at $2.703.

The Midwest was the cheapest at $2.459, despite a 1.1-cent increase.
