The price for a gallon of diesel nationally increased three cents to $2.803 for the week ending May 20, according to the Energy Information Administration.

With a streak of four straight weekly price drops snapped, diesel prices increased everywhere except for the Rocky Mountains, where it was down 0.5 cents to $2.993. The Rocky Mountains nevertheless remained the most expensive region.

The Lower Atlantic region, the cheapest region, experienced the largest increase - 4.7 cents to $2.758.
