The average price for a gallon of diesel jumped 2.4 cents to $1.74 per gallon last week, with all regions in the U.S. posting increases.

The average price for a gallon of diesel jumped 2.4 cents to $1.74 per gallon last week, with all regions in the U.S. posting increases.

California posted the largest price increase, up 3.7 cents to $2.113 per gallon. The Rocky Mountain region had the most modest increase, up 0.6 cents to $1.794 per gallon.

California remains the most expensive region to fill up, while the Lower Atlantic had the cheapest pump prices at $1.67 per gallon.
