Next Generation Power Engineering Inc offers its ultra-compact 3.5- and 5.5-kilowatt diesel generator sets. Ideal for recharging batteries and operating air/heat pumps, block heaters, and personal appliances, these patented units start at 16" to 18" wide. They are powered by Kubota engines.
The single-cylinder, UCM 1-3.5 gen-set weighs 200 pounds, while the two-cylinder UCM 2-5.5 comes in at 300 pounds. Gen-sets operate at midspeed rpm levels, which prolongs gen-set life and reduces vibration and noise levels. They can also be equipped with optional sound-deadening enclosures.
Standard features include isolation mounts, remote start panel, oil pressure and water temperature safety shutdown, and one-side service points. Both models can be purchased with mounted radiators, or they can be plumbed to use the truck engine's cooling system.
