Industrial production fell 0.1% in July, marking the 10th straight monthly decline. Compared to a year ago, it was down 3.2%. Second-quarter production was revised up but still fell at an annual rate of 4.2%. After dropping drastically in June, manufacturing output was unchanged in July. Utilities production was down 0.5% and mining output down 0.6%. Capacity utilization for total industry stood at 77% - 5% below its average for 1967-2000.
