‘Top end loose’ pares lockrod inventory

Powerbrace Corp has coined the phrase “top end loose” to explain a lockrod purchase option that eliminates the need to fabricate lockrods in the field or repair shop from component parts. When ordering top end loose lockrods, they come factory-assembled with the top cam unattached, so the length can be cut and precisely fit in the field or repair shop. The technician simply cuts the tube to length and welds on the top cam for a perfect fit.

The top end loose option allows the option of stocking a select few lockrods at a universal length rather than an inventory of custom-length lockrods, reducing inventories while maintaining consistent quality.

With top end loose lockrods, the pre-assembled bottom cam and handle assembly are factory-timed during manufacturing, ensuring a proper fit and mounting accuracy.

Technicians can choose the speed, convenience, and accuracy of the top end loose program or they have the option of purchasing conventional assembly kits containing all components.

SuperSway-Stops help improve handling

SuperSprings International Inc discovered from air spring users that when their air bags were substantially pressurized, the factory overload springs became ineffective. This was largely because the pressurized air bags prevented the overload contact perches from loading the overload spring, thus making them redundant. With heavily loaded vehicles and in particular those with a high center of gravity, these factory overload springs are paramount to achieving vehicle stability and so reduce body roll.

The company developed SuperSway-Stops, a bolt-on solution to closing the gap between contact perch and factory overload to fit all Ford Super Duty trucks. This cutting-edge anti-sway suspension system incorporates microcellular poly-urethane foam, which exhibits excellent spring properties.

Plexus adhesives receive GEI certification

Twenty-four Plexus industrial and surfacing adhesives have been certified by the Greenguard Environmental Institute (GEI) as low-emissions products suitable for indoor use.

Greenguard certification means that Plexus Adhesives meet GEI's emission requirements for health, irritation, and odor concerns. Greenguard Indoor Air Quality Certified adhesives are designed for assembly of truck cabs and other products for use in enclosed environments.

Certification is based primarily on an adhesive's emissions at 168 hours (seven days) after unpackaging. Six times throughout that period, under strictly controlled testing protocols in dynamic environmental chambers that produce airflow patterns resembling those of a home or office, an independent laboratory measures air sample concentrations of formaldehyde, 4-phenylcyclohexene, styrene, and a wide spectrum of volatile organic compounds.

Certifier wireless hub adds test reliability

Lite-Check LLC announces enhanced trailer and tractor certification and wireless data collection capabilities for the Certifier 912 FMVSS 121 and CMVSS 121 vehicle test system.

The Certifier eight-port wireless data collection hub is a completely wireless connection between the Certifier 912 and the data collection hub. This enhancement reduces tripping hazards, speeds the test preparation process, and allows for more reliable test operations by removing the potential for cable damage.

When combined with the improved model 330A Brake Pedal Actuator, the Certifier 912 provides robust brake timing for tractor and tractor/trailer combinations. Access www.lite-check.com for full information.
