International Truck and Engine Corporation has named leading fifth wheel manufacturer Fontaine International-North America a Diamond Supplier for 2007. Fontaine is one of only three suppliers to earn this prestigious award five years in a row.
“It is a privilege to work with International Truck, and we are honored to once again receive this award,” said Steve Wyatt, Fontaine International senior OEM account manager. “All of us at Fontaine are focused on continuing to offer International the industry’s best fifth wheels and support.”
According to International, its Diamond Suppliers must meet and exceed performance expectations for quality, delivery and cost. Additionally, Diamond Suppliers are strategically aligned with International’s business goals and demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement.
“As a Diamond Supplier, you represent the best of the best in terms of supplier/buyer collaboration,” said Tom Akers, International vice president and chief procurement officer-purchasing and logistics.
Wyatt and Henry Bell, president of Fontaine International-North America, accepted two crystal trophies at International’s Diamond Supplier Dinner on March 6. One recognized Fontaine’s 2007 award, while the other commemorated its five consecutive years of Diamond Supplier achievement. The awards were presented by Akers; Mark Meegan, International director of purchasing; and Marcellino Bomicino, International purchasing manager.
