OTC Daihen showcased a dozen manual and robotic welding technologies in its FABTECH 2022 booth.
“Once again, FABTECH offers the unique opportunity to present our exclusive technology to our customers and prospects,” said per Mike Monnin, general manager of DAIHEN Inc. “This year represents a return to form for the show and we are meeting that expectation with hands-on demonstrations of live manual and robotic welding!”
Among the OTC DAIHEN exhibit product demonstrations were the Custom LT-ARC system with a 12-foot-long slider, FD-V8Ls2 welding robot, WELBEE II WB-P402 welding power source, tilt-rotate positioner, headstock-tailstock positioner and Flextur weld table demonstrating aluminum welding equipped with our NEW FD-QTS laser seam tracking camera with increased joint position tolerance and faster tracking (up to 394 inches/minute tracking speed).
The robot and power source were components in OTC Daihen’s 1000th production robotic welding system—a SERVO-ARC 720B turntable robot welder—delivered just ahead of FABTECH to East Manufacturing.
“The completion of our 1,000th pre-engineered welding system represents 20 years of advancing robotic welding solutions by the OTC DAIHEN Inc. team,” said Todd Griffieth, general manager of technical operations with OTC DAIHEN. “Our goal of automating the metal fabrication operations of our North American customers would not have achieved this success without the focused efforts and technical strengths of our Advanced Welding Partners like Airgas.”
With a smaller base and floor-mounted safety fencing, the SERVO-ARC 720B (basic) features a servo-controlled turntable positioning cell is the unitized base option designed for medium- and large-sized parts with minimal operator movement required.
The operator can prepare the work on side A while the robot is welding on side B. The robot, turntable and guarding are all mounted to a common base along with the robot controller and welding power supply, making the unit easy to reposition within a facility.
This system was sold to East by the Great Lakes region of Airgas and came shortly after OTC DAIHEN expanded its operations in Tipp City, Ohio.
“With our recently expanded manufacturing assembly capacity and increased product and consumable inventory here in Ohio, we are further committed to growing our arc-welding automation solutions for all metal fabricators seeking the advantages of our exclusive welding technology,” Griffieth said.
Headquartered in Randolph, Ohio, East has provided standard and custom trailer products for more than 50 years.
