Unicell Body Company recently launched the second generation of its GM AeroCell Body.
This AeroCell model is Unicell’s next generation of one piece fiberglass van bodies. The newly refined aerodynamic front nose design offers a sleek look and removes the requirement of exterior caulking.
In addition to the new aerodynamic design, fully integrated skirts now cover all three available wheel bases on the 139-, 159- and 177-inch Dual Rear Wheel Express and Savanna Cutaways.
The one-piece molded fiberglass construction provides better fuel efficiency and a smoother, quieter, ride, Unicell said.
AeroCell users consistently report fuel savings of 10 to15 percent when compared to conventional van bodies on cutaway chassis, the company said. In addition to fuel savings, the tough fiberglass shell resists more impact for less downtime and required repairs, helping save “thousands of dollars” over the life of the truck.
“Any customer with total cost of ownership in mind can’t afford to ignore the significant savings the AeroCell body provides over the life of the vehicle,” Unicell said.
