Heil Environmental has announced an average 5% price increase on all refuse collection bodies and roll-off hoists, effective January 1, 2013.
Heil has cited two key drivers for the increase: the incorporation of significant innovations into the entire line of refuse collection products over the past 18-24 months, lowering the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO); and the impacts of escalating employee healthcare costs and the overall economic inflation that has affected most industrial manufacturers over the same time period.
“No manufacturer likes to raise prices,” says Nate Davis, Heil Product Manager. “However, there are times when it is necessary. We want to continue to offer customers the most innovative refuse collection equipment in the solid waste industry and at the same time deliver the highest efficiency with the lowest TCO.
“That innovation requires us to continually explore new technologies which, in turn, necessitates both resource and capital investments.”
“Unfortunately, such significant cost increases cannot be offset by internal Lean initiatives alone,” says Tom Vatter, Vice President of Sales for Environmental Solutions Group, of which Heil is a part. “We are proud of our commitment to product innovation and superior service, and we will continue to invest in technology that will enhance the People, Profit, and Planet components of each customer’s Triple BottomLine. These investments will continue to measurably benefit our customers, despite the economic challenges we all face.”
