JB Poindexter & Co (JBPCO) has launched its new business, EAVX. Leveraging JBPCO’s industry expertise through its nine transportation-focused business units, EAVX partners with the most advanced electric and alternative power chassis producers to become “the bodybuilder of choice” serving present and future EV and alternative fuel markets.
“The electric and alternative power vehicle market is expanding rapidly. Coupled with immense pressure and mounting regulatory mandates for commercial vehicle and fleet compliance, we will provide support to both our customers and the electric and alternative fuel industry through this strategic new business offering,” said John Poindexter, CEO and Chairman, JBPCO. “With our proven history of creating excellent work truck and commercial vehicle bodies and accessories, we will grow our legacy within the transportation industry as it reinvents itself through the next generation of electric and alternatively powered vehicles and advanced vehicle technologies.”
EAVX is led by Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Mark Hope, former vice president of engineering and business development at Morgan Olson, and one of the leaders responsible for the launch of its award-winning electric step-van prototype unveiled at the NTEA Work Truck Show in 2020.
Hope is responsible for the continued development and growth of the company’s strategic partnerships and the design, engineering and consulting services, allowing EAVX to identify and produce suitable EV/AV technologies for integration with JBPCO truck bodies and accessories, JBPCO notes. This has also allowed EAVX to develop test prototypes and manufacture advanced chassis design projects on behalf of its fleet customers and partners.
“By partnering with EV/AV technology suppliers and chassis producers, EAVX is able to offer a rare set of integrated services and capabilities for fleets of all sizes,” said Hope. “Whether they’re an existing JBPCO customer or a new customer looking to modernize its fleet, we want our customers to know they have a trusted, experienced partner they can rely on to help them navigate this ever-evolving EV/AV landscape.”
Along with EAVX, JBPCO units include Morgan Truck Body, Morgan Olson, Reading, Truck Accessories Group, EFP Corporation, Specialty Vehicle Group, MIC Group, and Masterack.
