Louisville, KY. The success of the Mid-America Trucking Show tends to rise and fall with the strength of the industry, and a prolonged period of prosperity for the trucking business and related boom times for the commercial vehicle industry meant this year’s show would be a big one—and it was.

Indeed, despite the competition from biennial North American Commercial Vehicle Show, MATS 2019 boasted more than 1,000 exhibitors spread out over a million square feet of exhibit and special event space. On hand to view the wide range of trucking-related wares were nearly 73,000 attendees, including some 30,000 or so who registered as truck drivers and more than 6,000 fleet executives.

While several of the big truck OEMs have either skipped or downsized the once lavish exhibits that dominated the South wing at MATS, many trailer manufacturers have remained exhibitors in good standing at the traditionally largest truck show in the country.
