CIMC hosts intermodal connectivity seminar

CIMC Intermodal Equipment recently hosted a seminar in an effort to better understand the influence of new technology and how to utilize improved connectivity.

CIMC Intermodal Equipment recently hosted a seminar with some of the top minds in intermodal transportation in an effort to better understand the influence of new technology and how to utilize improved connectivity.

The group met May 8-10 in Manhattan Beach CA for the CIMC Vehicle Annual Trailer Seminar, sponsored by CIMC’s Global Vehicle Division and co-hosted by Vanguard National Trailer USA, SDC Trailer, Marshall LethleanVanguard National Parts and LAG Trailers.

The seminar’s theme was One Team, One Dream: Connectivity in the Era of Globalization.

“It was an impressive event, and I can truly say I am excited about CIMC Vehicles’ group strategy for the future,” said Adrienne Bailey, chairman and principal at Brooks Davis Consulting.

“I cannot wait to see the kinds of innovation (the) federation will deliver to our industry in the coming years.  (CIMC’s) focus on transparency, collaboration and technology are exactly what we need to drive our industry forward faster.”

CIMC Vehicle began bringing together employees, customers, suppliers and industrial leaders from all over the globe in 2004 in Shenzhen, China. With the internet changing the speed of life since then, this year’s seminar sought ways to leverage technology and connectivity for continued growth.

Speakers included David Li, general manager of CIMC Vehicle, Dave Manning, chairman of ATA, and Jeff Walker, CEO of CIMC Capital. Panel discussions included Embracing Technology as a Tool, led by Frank Sonzala, president/CEO of CIMC Intermodal Equipment, and Global Trailer Designs, led by Charlie Mudd, president/CEO of Vanguard National Trailer delved further into the constantly evolving intermodal industry.
 
“The Wednesday sessions were extremely informative and relevant in today’s era of rapid globalization … plus the turnout was fantastic,” said Nick Trani, senior procurement specialist for Triton.

“CIMC’s ability to get its suppliers and customers together to work towards a common goal is a testament to the vital role CIMC is playing in this market.”
