MBBA Logistics, a British transportation company, is expanding its trailer fleet with Krone units.
Based in West Thurrock, MBBA Logistics transports goods to and from ports including Tilbury, London Gateway, Purfleet, and Felixstowe. The company has invested in 13 new skeletal trailers from Krone, partly replacing older units but also to accommodate new contracts from its client base.
Read more: Krone, Southern Van Lines gear up for festival season“We already owned a few Krone skeleton trailers and were really happy with them,” said Benjamin Abram, director at MBBA Logistics. “We needed to expand so it made sense to me to buy more Krone and keep the fleet all the same.
Some of the trailers will go into the company’s own fleet and others are destined for subcontractors. The new fleet includes some goosenecks for additional stability.
The Krone Box Liner trailers have a flat chassis configuration for carrying 20-ft., 30-ft., 40-ft., and 45-ft. containers. Designed to be durable and versatile with a sliding axle bogie and folding locks at rear, Krone container chassis come with a 10-year guarantee against corrosion perforation.
“We do a wide variety of work, so we needed to reflect that in our trailer fleet,” Abram stated. “With Krone Box Liners each is designed for different types of work, so they give us different options and the flexibility that we need for our business model.”
Krone trailers are designed for harsh seaport environments and, said Krone Trailers UK. All models have a cathodic dip coating followed by powder coating, providing a high level of resistance to stone chipping and weathering.
“The drivers like the Krone trailers as they are reliable and we have found them to be very durable,” Abram added. “Also, the aftersales service is good; they are very helpful with spare parts.”
