Randon closes Hercules deal

Randon Companies has completed of the purchase of the North-American intermodal chassis manufacturer Hercules, the Brazil-based equipment giant reported Nov. 1.

Announced to the market in July, the acquisition marks the entry of Randon Companies into a new market for the OEM business vertical. The transaction has an initial investment of approximately $40 million.

Hercules is a traditional semi-trailers manufacturer specializing in base models for containers, with more than 60 years in the United States. Randon Companies U.S. business units include Fras-le and Auttom. The company is headquartered in Hillsborough, New Jersey.

Another “important achievement,” which advances with the closing of the Hercules deal, is the certification obtained for the U.S. manufacturing of products with the Randon brand, the company added.

Carvalho said.

Randon Implementos is the largest manufacturer of semi-trailers in Latin America and is among the largest in the world. In addition to six units located in Brazil, the company maintains a plant in Argentina and works with partners for the assembly of semi-trailers in several strategic global logistics points in Central America and Africa, in addition to a national and international distribution network.
