The first-ever Fontaine Trailer Supply Partner Excellence Award was recently presented to Overseas Hardwoods Company. OHC supplies imported lumber products, including the Apitong that Fontaine installs on their platform trailers.
OHC President Lee Robinson Jr. accepted the award from Jamie Hendricks, GM of Fontaine Trailer.
“OHC proves to have exceptional quality, social standards, and goes far beyond the call of a partnership and civil duty,” Hendricks said.
Lee Robinson is a third-generation lumberman and supplier of manufactured flatbed trailer flooring.
“It is very humbling, and it rejuvenates our drive to do better and be better,” Robinson said. “To have a premier platform trailer manufacturer bestow this award on us is affirmation that we are providing the best product as well as consistent and reliable service.”
Alan Briley, president of Fontaine Trailer, attributes three main reasons for Fontaine’s success as the largest manufacturer of flatbed trailers in North America.
- The quality of their trailers is unmatched in the industry. Innovation and use of quality products “keep generations of platform trailer buyers coming back for a Fontaine trailer. The Apitong trailer flooring supplied by OHC is an example of a product that keeps Fontaine Trailers consistent, dependable, and reliable.”
- Dedicated and reliable dealers take on the role of being the inventory depot of Fontaine Trailers to serve the end-user market better.
- Production capacity and efficient facilities enable our production levels to meet the market’s rate of demand. The investment of a new training wing offers the ability to better train employees across multiple disciplines throughout all departments.
“Fontaine truly appreciates the relationship [between Fontaine and OHC] and the focus on communication between our companies that has transitioned us from a buy/sell relationship to a partner relationship,” Briley said.
Indeed, Fontaine and OHC’s four-decade partnership has created an environment that enables innovation and flexibility to meet the ever-changing demands of the platform trailer industry.
“A customer’s problem gives us the opportunity to display our ability to handle and create solutions for our customers and their customers,” Robinson added. “This is what defines our products, our service, and above all, the kind of people we are.”
