Cynergy Cargo, an enclosed cargo trailer manufacturer headquartered in Douglas GA, is building a new facility in the Crossett Industrial Park in Crossett AR.
The company said it plans to hire 70 new, full-time employees within 24 months. Positions are available for carpenters, welders, electricians and more.
“I want to thank Cynergy Cargo for having the vision of moving forward and having faith in the future of our country and our workforce in Crossett,” Arkansas Gov Asa Hutchinson said. “As a growing business, Cynergy will fit right in with the hardworking families in south Arkansas.”
The company cited support from state and local leaders among the reasons for selecting Crossett as the location for its new facility.
“Through every step of the process, we have received outstanding support from Crossett Economic Development Commission as well as the Arkansas Economic Development Commission,” said Vigler Mazariegos, Cynergo Cargo owner. “In the spirit of progress, these leaders have expressed immense interest to create more employment opportunities for citizens.”
Cynergy currently employs about 60 people at its facility in Douglas, where it runs two lines. The company said it chose to expand in Crossett to be closer to customers and increase production with a third line.
“This is a great project that is hitting at the perfect time to both create jobs and lift the spirits of this community,” said Mike Smith, executive director of the Crossett Economic Development Foundation.
Cynergy Cargo began making enclosed cargo trailers in 2012 and has since manufactured more than 30,000 trailers sold throughout the United States and Canada.
“Cynergy Cargo is a great fit for Arkansas,” said Mike Preston, the state’s secretary of commerce. “We embrace small businesses, and we believe that Cynergy has the business tools and entrepreneurial spirit needed to grow and succeed. We couldn’t be happier that they chose to invest in the workforce and community in Crossett.”
While the new facility is under construction, Cynergy plans to operate from a temporary facility in Crossett.
“The economic impact of 70 new jobs in Crossett and southeast Arkansas cannot be overstated, especially at a time when we need this good news the most,” said Howard Beaty Jr, president of the Crossett Economic Development Foundation. “This announcement would not be possible without the support of the community, our partnership with Gov Hutchinson, and the Arkansas Economic Development Commission.”
