Wabash National Corporation (NYSE: WNC) has been named one of the "50 Best U.S. Manufacturers" by IndustryWeek in the magazine's July 2013 issue.
"We're honored to be in such good company with other leading manufacturing companies, including Apple Inc., Cummins Inc., Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. and Qualcomm Inc.," said Dick Giromini, president and chief executive officer. "This national recognition reflects the dedication and talent of Wabash National's nearly 6,000 associates worldwide and confirms the company's efforts to strategically grow and diversify the business in recent years."
To select the top 50 manufacturing companies, IndustryWeek evaluated members of its "U.S. 500," a list of the largest U.S. public manufacturers, based on financial performance in the following six key areas from 2010 to 2012: inventory turns, profit margin, asset turns, return on assets, return on equity and revenue growth. Performance for the most recent year was weighted more heavily in the analysis.
"The Wabash National team's execution of our diversification strategy has been integral to the company's continued strengthening financial performance," added Giromini. "We look forward to building on the success we've had to date and moving forward to even greater levels of performance."
This is the second time Wabash National has been honored as a "50 Best," having first appeared on the list in 2006.
