Axalta introduces new low-VOC Cromax EZ clearcoats

Axalta recently released a streamlined suite of low-VOC undercoat and clearcoat products to complement its latest waterborne basecoat technology.

Axalta recently released a streamlined suite of low volatile organic compound (VOC) undercoat and clearcoat products to complement its latest waterborne basecoat technology for the refinish market, Cromax EZ.

The new products, LE 8300S and LE 8700S, from the Cromax Premier LE 35XXS series, share a family of activators that allow for a wide range of applications and are designed to reduce a body shop’s activator inventory by nearly 50 percent.

“Our customers value Cromax EZ waterborne basecoat because of its exceptional color match and ease of use,” said Troy Weaver, vice president of Axalta North America Refinish.  “By streamlining the activators in the Cromax EZ system, customers can achieve a premium appearance while reducing complexity, waste and inventory.

“The system is designed to boost efficiency, which allows body shops to better serve their customers.”

Axalta launched Cromax EZ earlier this year as an easy to mix, match and apply waterborne basecoat.  The new low-VOC compliant undercoats formulated to work with EZ include the LE 35XXS series of urethane primer-fillers and sealers for spot, panel and overall repairs.  New clearcoats include LE8300S Productive Clearcoat and LE8700S Premium Appearance Clearcoat.
