American Welding Society releases FABTECH 2022 event schedule

Oct. 21, 2022
Welders and fabricators will have the chance to see latest in manufacturing equipment, discover innovations by application and industry, and see advanced manufacturing solutions while networking with their peers at 2022's FABTECH

The American Welding Society (AWS) is bringing FABTECH back to the Georgia World Congress Center from Nov. 8-10, 2022, and will be featuring multiple panels, events, and educational tracts throughout the event.

“AWS will be showcasing its full suite of products and services to help the welding community,” said Gary W. Konarska II, executive director and CEO. “I encourage everyone to stop by the AWS booths to learn more about how AWS can support your personal and professional growth.”

While at FABTECH, the AWS will be hosting a booth at C11361 where visitors can learn more about the organization, their programs and certifications, and how to become a member. This will include discounted “Take The Torch” pricing for memberships, giveaways for an online class and a Kindle Fire, and access to the Arc Junkies podcast coverage of the event, which will begin 30 minutes after the exhibit hall opens.

Additionally, the AWS Bookstore is offering 40%-off discounts on all AWS publications and toolkits purchased from booth C11567, which will also be hosting a giveaway for a D1.1 or D1.5. Among the educational offerings at the conference include the AWS Welding Track, which will cover a variety of topics including comparative cutting, how to successfully launch a product, and XR technology.

The AWS Professional Program will feature authors presenting abstracts on their work and research regarding materials-joining technology and processes, including additive manufacturing. Among these will include sessions on image segmentation for arc weld pool recognition, beam deflection during keyhole mode laser welding, and energy balance in gas metal arc welding. Those interested attending will need to register after reviewing the session schedule.

The integral AWS Poster Session will also be present as part of the AWS Professional Program. There, attendees can view graphic displays of technical achievements in welding and see which students win prizes for their work.

Finally, not only will Hall A will feature the newly-designed AWS Foundation’s Careers in Welding Mobile Exhibit (Sponsored by Lincoln Electric), but it will also host daily panel discussions at 11 a.m. These discussions will cover topics relevant to welders of every level with a panel of experts in the industry. Panel discussions will include:

  • Tuesday - How to Add Automation to Your Business
  • Wednesday - Questions You’ve Always Wanted to Ask a CWI
  • Thursday - The Benefits of Welding Competitions

On the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 9, 6-10 p.m., the AWS will host the Arcs and Ales after-hours networking event at the New Realm Brewing Co. and will be hosted by Stephanie Hoffman and Jason Becker.
