Rack-It Truck Racks, headquartered in California, recently expanded operations at its Albany KY location with a new 39,000-square-foot manufacturing and powder-coating facility, which also will serve as its Eastern US distribution point.
The utility truck rack manufacturer first broke ground in Albany in October 2018.
“We are thrilled to announce the opening of this new facility,” said Gary Kank, Rack-It’s vice president. “Over the past few years we have developed a loyal customer base in the Eastern United States and this new facility will allow us to better serve those customers, while also providing a strategic geographic location to pursue more growth opportunities.”
Rack-It’s flagship facility is in Shingle Spring CA, just outside Sacramento.
The Kentucky expansion provides a prime central location and logistical advantages for distributing its products, Rack-It said. The company has invested more than $1 million in infrastructure, equipment and construction since moving into the area, creating more than a dozen new jobs, with plans to double that by the end of 2019.
