Lightweight aluminum equipment designed for 2017, newer Ford pickup trucks in law enforcement, security, rescue, more

Texas-based Larson Electronics, which specializes in industrial lighting and equipment, recently released a permanent antenna mounting plate for 2017 and newer Ford F250, F350, F450 and F550 Super Duty aluminum body pickup trucks.

The mounting plate (VMP-AM-V5-FSD-2017-LED), which features an aluminum frame, brackets and mounting plate surface, requires no drilling for installation and can support an antenna array of up to 20 pounds, Larson said.

The lightweight mounting plate is installed via the rear cab lights and boasts a weatherproof seal on the back for secure and dry installation, and to protect the truck body from scrapes. This unit is powder-coated for added durability and comes with a black, grey or white finish.

The no-drill antenna mounting plate also features a windload that is okay for highway speeds, the company maintained. It comes with a single pre-drilled ½-inch hole, allowing for the secure mounting of antennas.

The company said the unit is ideal for law enforcement, DOT workers, hunting, fishing, security, search and rescue, and farming operations.
