VIPAR Heavy Duty’s annual conference is going digital for 2020.
The aftermarket parts organization said the unprecedented nature of the novel coronavirus pandemic, and the importance of ensuring the health, safety and well-being of its network partners, prompted the move of its IMPACT Conference to the new virtual platform, dubbed the V! IMPACT Conference.
The IMPACT Conference previously was slated for Oct 18-23 in Orlando FL. Organizers said the V! IMPACT virtual conference still is planned for the third week of October, with more details about the new format to come.
“The decision to transition this year’s conference to a virtual setting was not taken lightly,” said Chris Baer, president and CEO of VIPAR Heavy Duty. “The IMPACT Conference is a marquee event and known as one of the best in our industry. Each year there is a tremendous amount of knowledge share and a wealth of opportunities that emerge at the conference, and we look forward to the opportunity to maintain our connection with all of our stakeholders—just in a different format this year.”
The virtual conference still will feature a general session, stockholder meeting and supplier meeting, as well as other key events from the traditional format.
“As we continue to navigate these trying times, the support we’ve seen among our stockholders, suppliers and business associates within the past month is a true testament to the strength and viability of the VIPAR Heavy Duty network and the resiliency of the heavy duty aftermarket,” Baer added. “Coming together as a network, even virtually, provides an opportunity to maintain our sense of community.”
