During the recent National Association of Show Trucks (NAST) Truck-Lite Trophy Series contest, Jonathan Eilen of Hampton MN scored a victory over three other finalists for the trophy.
NAST) awarded Trophy finalist status to one champion truck selected at each NAST truck show. The run-off competition was held at the 2011 Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville KY, and the trophy and a $5,000 check were presented to Eilen during the March 31 awards ceremony.
Eilen showed his 2010 389 Peterbilt carrying his late brother Jake's 2008 Mac trailer at NAST's August 2010 Eau Claire WI event, and walked away as one of four trophy contenders. Eilen's combo is given a daily workout hauling rock, aggregate and several other materials for the family business. The family-owned business, Eilen & Son's Trucking, was established in 1972.
Second place went to Jeremy Hassevoort of Holland, MI and his “Gold Digger” themed 1986 Peterbilt and 2001 Utility trailer. Truck-Lite awarded him a runner-up trophy and $2,500 check. Hassevoort is a best-in-show champion from the 2010 Great Lakes NAST event in Dundee MI.
