Jim Carney, executive director of the National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA), has been inducted into the Michigan Society of Association Executives (MSAE) Hall of Fame. The MSAE held its 10th annual Diamond Awards Banquet on September 21, 2011 at The Baronette Renaissance Hotel in Novi MI. Nearly 250 members and guests attended the event held to recognize excellence and innovation in associations. Carney was one of three association leaders to be inducted into the Michigan Association Hall of Fame.
This recognition honors individuals who have excelled in the association management profession and have contributed to other social or civic organizations or causes.
Carney joined the NTEA staff more than 35 years ago. As the organization's executive director the past 34 years, he oversees day-to-day activities of the association and is responsible for the organization's staff, planning, budget, and policymaking. Under his tenure, the organization has grown from 700 to nearly 1,600 member companies, and the NTEA has seen annual operating revenue rise from $250,000 to almost $7,000,000.
