Ravens has become an independent operating company within the Marmon Highway Technologies companies, and a new management team has been named. Jason Gerding has been appointed Ravens general manager; Mike Monroe, sales and marketing manager; and Joseph Myor, controller. Gerding most recently was a sales engineer for Fontaine Trailer and Fontaine Specialized. Monroe was previously a sales engineer at Ravens' Dover dealership, and Myor served as division controller at the Machine Tool Group of DeVlieg Bullard. Ravens has hired Ken Moorhead as eastern regional fleet manager. He worked for 25 years in trailer sales and management.
Volvo Trucks has appointed Peter Karlsten as North American operations president; Tommy Svensson, South American operations manager; and Goran Simonsson, Deutschland and the German-speaking markets of Central Europe president.
Larry Martin has joined Union City Body Co (UCBC) as product director responsible for the FreightMax and WorkMax products acquired in the June auction of Grumman Olson Industries properties. He comes to UCBC from Rexhall Industries of Lancaster CA, where he was director of national sales. Stan R Gornick has been named director of compliance and quality at UCBC, joining the company from Freightliner subsidiary Orion Bus Industries, based in Oriskany NY, where he was safety and compliance director.
Nick Panza has been promoted to senior vice-president of Paccar Inc and will relocate to Bellevue WA. He will be replaced as Paccar vice-president and Peterbilt Motors Co general manager by Dan Sobic, who had been assistant general manager of Peterbilt.
Sterling Truck Corp has named Nicholas Cole as Southeastern Region general manager. He most recently was director of vocational sales. Kevin Martin, most recently Sterling's vocational sales manager in the concrete and refuse industries, has been promoted to fill Cole's former position.
Brian K Thompson has been named manager of sales and marketing for Seagrave Fire Co/Canada, a subsidiary of Seagrave Fire Apparatus. Thompson, who will will work out of the Carleton Place, Ontario, office, most recently served with another fire truck manufacturer. Component manufacturers
