Layton Truck Equipment, a division of Auto Truck Group, has acquired Ledom Hayes Truck Equipment. Both companies are based in Colorado Springs CO.
The two truck equipment distributors will continue separate operations for the next 12 to 18 months. Marc Lewis will remain in charge of Layton operations, while Steve Hayes will serve as manager of the Ledom Hayes branch of Layton.
Layton is breaking ground in September for a new facility that will be located on a 15-acre site north of the present Layton shop. When the building is complete in late 2001 or early 2002, both companies will move into it. At that point, Ledom Hayes will be merged under the Layton name.
