Super Cleaners Designed for Weld Nozzles Designed to clean the weld nozzles of robotic and automatic welding machines, InterTech Super Cleaners clamp, ream, and spray - all in one position.
The patented feature of clamping and spraying at the same time eliminates the need for the robot to move to a second position for spray or dip.
This robot is programmed to move the weld nozzle into the clamp area. When the nozzle is in position, a combination 24-volt electrical and pneumatic valve starts the sequence by clamping the weld nozzle.
A cutting reamer attached to a pneumatic motor rotates at 900 rpm, at the same time as the assembly is moved upward into the weld nozzle by a pneumatic feed device. Spatter is thereby removed from the weld nozzle by the reamer. As reamer and motor are lowered, air is supplied to a reservoir of anti-spatter liquid, which is sprayed by small jets into the weld nozzle. The weld nozzle is released, and the robot is fed a 24-volt output telling it that the cleaning process was completed. The robot or automated welder continues welding, cleared of the spatter.
