Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) is initiating a United States biodiesel feasibility study in conjunction with recent legislation approved in Minnesota to encourage biodiesel production. This study should be completed within six months. It will determine the economic viability of processing soybean oil into a fuel that can be blended with petroleum derived diesel fuel to extend diesel supplies and improve fuel emissions. The study will be centered around the Mankato MN area where ADM has a soybean crushing and vegetable oil refining facility.
